SEVEN

I had a bad feeling about the funeral and I really didn’t want to go, but I needed to be there for my family.

What I didn’t expect was for my parents to be walking in the church with my birth parents.

I didn’t know how to feel, all I could do was cry.

I wanted to leave but couldn’t find my voice.

Hayden must have been reading my mind because he said exactly what I had been feeling.

Walking to the door we ran right into Melody’s looney ass.

This bitch had no chill at all. Today wasn’t the day she wanted to test my gangsta, because I would give her ass exactly what she wanted.

I didn’t even have to though, because Jace was right there ready to give it up to her ass.

I laughed at the expression on Melody’s face. I knew her ass was spooked.

I looked at Jacobi but he was looking at the people coming our way.

It was about to be some shit and I stayed ready so I wouldn’t ever have to waste time getting ready.

“Why are you leaving,” Mama Betty asked.

I looked at her in disbelief.

Hayden jumped in before I could say anything.

“Do you not see who the hell you just walked in with? Oh Lord please forgive me for cursing,” he said looking up.

I would have laughed out loud if the moment wasn’t so tense.

She looked behind her and I could see her eyes flash with anger.

“Seven I didn’t see them,” she said.

I believed her because of the look in her eyes.

“Seven this isn’t the right time but we want to talk to you,” Lisa said.

I didn’t say shit, but I didn’t have to really.

“You will not speak to my child now or later,” Mama Betty said.

The look on her face spoke volumes.

She was about knock my fire from Lisa’s ass.

“Could you please not do this here?” Reverend whoever asked coming up to us.

I grabbed Jacobi’s hand and walked out because I didn’t want to be anymore disrespectful than I already had.

“Seven wait!” I heard Lisa yell.

“Seven listen to your mother please,” Eric yelled.

I didn’t acknowledge either of them. While Mama Betty and Papa Evans didn’t conceive me together they were more of my parents than Eric and Lisa.

“Are you okay?” Jacobi asked when we got in the truck.

“Nope I’m mad as hell. And what the hell was Melody’s crazy ass doing here?”

“Baby I don’t know.”

I knew he didn’t and I wasn’t accusing him of anything, but I knew it was some bullshit going on.

A knock on the window interrupted my thoughts.

“Sev we are going to Jay’s house and I’m going to cook. I’m over the whole funeral shit,” Hayden said.

“Okay, I’m going to go change clothes and we will be over.”

“Alright love you boo.”

“You to, see you in a minute.”

Before I could roll up the window, Lisa appeared.

I clamped down on the inside of my jaw so I wouldn’t say anything out the way. Even though this bitch deserved it all, my grandmother wouldn’t have liked it if I had.
